Letter of thanks from the Haghel
family
At our last journey, last December, we visit the Haghel family and we
saw and they told us that the three oldest sons could not walk with the
rollators anymore and they only could use a wheelchair.
We asked Emile Haghel how he thought about our foundation and if he would
like to write a letter about his experience with the foundation.
Dear brothers who make part from the foundation “Friends for
Romania”. With great pleasure and a lot of gratitude, we sent you
this letter in the name of Jesus, because you where with us in the time
we needed help.

Some new families
Stingha family
April last year, Father Stingha had an accident with a horse and he twists
his foot and this is broken now. He needs a special shoe for his foot.
Wouko talked with our contact person Gabi and they considered making €
100,- available to prepare an orthopaedic shoe for the father so he can
walk and work again.
Churtu famlily
This is not a big family. They have four children and they all have TBC.
The eldest child is 6,5 years old. The father has worked on a concretemixer
(big truck) but at the moment he is unemployed. Every month they have
a payment of 1.500.000,- lei. This is about € 45,- every month.
Boroghino family
At this family you really can not find any luxury. The father works but
they have it very difficult. He has a woman and 10 children. There are
7 girls and 3 boys. The eldest daughter “Ramona” is 15 years
old.
Next journey
The next journey will be at 24 April till 4 May. The following persons
go together wit Wouko: father Jan Snijder, member of the committee Piet
de Jong and Rein Reinders. On the way to Brasov they will visit Nico and
Silvia Stroica and see how it is at there place and look at the self built
greenhouses financed by the foundation.
We have the intention with the help from the church in Brasov to have
a shoe action at the end of the year.
We would like to give the children from the families who supported by
our foundation, new shoes for the coming winter so they will have warm
and dry feet’s. This all will need a lot of preparing and Wouko
will talk with our contact person’s en de committee of the church
in Brasov during the journey.
Summercamp 2003
The reactions of the summercamp from the last year were so positive that
we again go together with our youth to summercamp in Romania this year.
The Romanian youth have built a good relation with our youth during the
last summercamp 2002 and saying goodbye brought for some of them tears
in the eyes.
Last year there were a lot of run free cattle and wild dogs at he camp
ground because it is all open. Wouko will have a talk with the committee
in the church about this problem and see what they could do. On our website
you can read a journey report of the summercamp 2002 from one of our youth.
Expose the goal
of the foundation
We will like to focus on the youth in Romania. To give them a good education
and support them financial. We also seeing economical, do all our buying
in Romania, so we support the commerce and not have unnecessary transport
cost when we buy food and all kinds of things here in the Netherlands
and export it to Romania.
